Cancer Awareness Month

Oral Cancer Awareness Month provides an excellent opportunity for us to engage with our patients, promote oral health, and raise awareness about the risks of oral cancer.

We are offering half price dental screenings for all new patients during the month of November.

Here are some key points about Oral Cancer Awareness Month:

  • Purpose: The primary purpose of Oral Cancer Awareness Month is to educate the public about the risk factors, symptoms, and prevention of oral cancer. Early detection is crucial for successful treatment.
  • Risk Factors: Several risk factors can increase the likelihood of developing oral cancer, including smoking, tobacco use (including smokeless tobacco), excessive alcohol consumption, and a family history of oral cancer.
  • Symptoms: Common symptoms of oral cancer may include persistent mouth sores, white or red patched in the mouth, difficulty chewing or swallowing, a persistent sore throat, a lump or thickening in the mouth or throat, numbness in the mouth or lips, and changes in the way your teeth fit together.
  • Screening: Regular oral cancer screenings are important, especially for individuals with risk factors. Dentists and oral healthcare professionals are trained to perform these screenings.

Overall, Oral Cancer Awareness Month serves as a reminder of the importance of oral health and early detection in preventing and managing oral cancer. If you have any concerns or risk factors related to oral cancer, it’s essential to consult with a healthcare professional for guidance and regular screenings.
